"Advancing the Gospel through Global Partnerships"

Our story:

We were both saved as children and learned about missions in Sunday School and church. God called us to serve in the country of Ecuador in 1988. We had the privilege of serving in Quito, Ecuador’s capital city, and in the coastal city of Manta. We learned from our fellow missionaries and served alongside Ecuadorian believers in church planting, discipleship, leadership training, and educational ministries.

After 30 years of ministry, family challenges and responsibilities brought us back to the USA. We prayed about how to continue having an influence for Christ in Ecuador or wherever God would use us in international missions. Pastor Sam Polson helped us to learn about Live Global. We are happy that God led us to a ministry that seems to fit us perfectly. We are grateful to be on the Live Global team!

We are excited about the opportunity to put our ministry and life experiences to work by building relationships with national partners who are making disciples, training pastors and church leaders, planting churches, and sending missionaries among all nations. It is a privilege to serve Christ by building bridges to connect churches in the USA with churches around the world in order to advance the Gospel.

The Growing Live Global Team
In August we had the privilege of attending a family retreat with our Live Global team. Over 100 of us gathered at ABWE Headquarters for a wonderful time to connect, rest, and align with each other. Partners from around the world told us their stories and encouraged us. Our team leaders added to our understanding and application of our core values. A church in Michigan provided special activities for children and teens. We all deepened relationships and recharged our spiritual batteries. We were amazed to see how the team has grown in the two years since God led us to Live Global. God is doing something new and beautiful. We love being part of the team. We’re thankful for your partnership in giving and prayer. You’re on the team too!

Please Pray for our Family
As you may know, our family has gone through some deep trials in recent months. Thank you for praying for our son Teddy (age 19) as he recovers from the burns suffered in March 2021. In September he had surgery for some additional skin grafting and laser procedures to provide more flexibility in his right hand and wrist. Doctors expect to do more surgery in the coming months. At the same time, Teddy finished a heavy load of college courses, and achieved advanced EMT certification. God has given Teddy opportunities to disciple other young men, and God is opening new doors for study and ministry. Your prayers are needed, and we’re grateful.

Our son Matthew (age 16) struggles with mental illness and disability. As you may well imagine, those difficulties deeply affect our family. At the end of August, we had to make some big changes for Matthew’s safety, for his well-being, and for the health and safety of the rest of our family. Matthew was hospitalized for over a week, and then was placed in an assisted living facility for disabled adults and teens. He is living about 4 hours away from us. We ask you to pray for his spiritual, physical, and mental health. Thank you.

Peru
Tony is preparing to go to Peru (October 25 to November 3) along with three other men from Central Baptist Church in Crossville, TN. The church has supported and carried out ministry in Puerto Maldonado, Peru for many years. The men will be encouraging a missionary family, serving at a medical clinic, and motivating those who are being discipled and trained. Please pray for God’s care and for fruitful ministry in Puerto Maldonado.

Spotlight on Partners
Pastor Juan Carlos Escobar and his wife Alejandra have ministered in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay for over 28 years. God has given them a bountiful ministry there through planting a church, training servant-leaders, and leading a Christian school. Their whole family is involved in the ministry. Pastor Juan Carlos shared a short video testimony with our team at the retreat. You can watch it with this link:

Please pray for Juan Carlos and Alejandra and their work. You may give in support of their ministry through the partnership of ABWE/Live Global and Adelphos Mission Agency in Chile. Tony is planning a trip to visit them, learn more about their ministry, and talk about how we can serve them better.
